Dodger Academy - Fort Dodge

United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,079 to Dodger Academy, an after-school program that serves TK through 5th grade students from the ECC and all elementary school in the Fort Dodge Community School District. This program provides a safe and supervised atmosphere after school until 6:45 PM each evening. Students benefit from academic help and enrichment opportunities. The students have time to practice, enhance and solidify the skills they learned during the school day. Enrichment opportunities involve a variety of local clubs and organizations that come and speak to the students. They also focus on social and emotional learning, teaching students to resolve their own problems in a respectful way with their peers. The money for this donation was raised during United Bank of Iowa's UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort.
On hand for the check presentation (left to right) were Shaunna Abrams and Kathleen Meldrem (United Bank of Iowa), Morgan Merrill, Tatum Hilbert, Graham Hilbert, Kallista Gilbert, Erin Brookshire, (representing the Dodger Academy), and Mike Biedenfeld (United Bank of Iowa).
