United Bank of Iowa Donates $2,031 to Boyer Valley Elementary School

United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,031 to the Boyer Valley Elementary School's program for low- income families to provide children with basic clothing items they may need. This donation will help serve families in the Dunlap, Arion, and Dow City communities by providing children with basic clothing items such as underwear, socks, sweatpants, and mittens, with goals to add winter coats and shoes as well. Faculty of the school recognize students in need and alert the representatives who manage the program and anonymously provide the children with the items they need.

The money for this donation was raised by UBI employees, with funds being matched by the bank, during their UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort. During this initiative, UBI employees from all 36 offices have the option to pay $5.00 on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month to wear their UNITED TOGETHER shirt with jeans to work. The bank matches the employee donations up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions submitted by all 36 UBI locations.

United Bank of Iowa employees presenting the donation are (from left to right) Jake Schaben, Amy Mitchell, Cindy Carter and Ryan Murphy. Accepting the donation on behalf of Boyer Valley's program are Scott Frohlich and Erinn Brasel.
