United Bank of Iowa Donates $2,024 to Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa

United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,024 to Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa. Based in Fort Dodge, this non-profit organization provides emergency and temporary shelter for children up to age 18 as well as Child Welfare Alternative Services. The Youth Shelter Care also provides Crisis Stabilization Residential Services to area youth at risk, providing short-term intervention and support for families and youth experiencing urgent mental and/or behavioral health issues, substance use, or medication management crisis. Individual and family mental health therapy, in-home behavioral health intervention services, and children's mental health in-home therapy are also services offered by this organization. The money for this donation was raised during United Bank of Iowa's UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort.

Cause Day was designed to give UBI team members a meaningful way to support people in need across the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays of each month, employees at all 36 UBI offices have the option to contribute $5 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER t-shirts to work. The bank matches those employee donations up to $1,000, and the combined total is awarded to a cause selected at random from suggestions from all 36 locations.

On hand for the check presentation are UBI employees Keely Place, Nick Sulham, Brock Weber, Jenny Stein and Gabby Stewart. Angie Jergens, Mindy Summers, and Kate Cardenas accepted the donation on behalf of Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Inc.
