United Bank of Iowa donated $2,045 to the Storm Lake United Methodist Church BLESS Program. The money for this donation was raised during UBI's UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort. The goal of United Bank of Iowa's Cause Day effort is to support people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays each month, UBI employees from all 37 offices have the option to donate $5.00 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER t-shirt with jeans to work. The bank matches the employee donations up to $1,000 and the total is given to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions given by all 37 offices.

The Storm Lake United Methodist Church BLESS Program, suggested by the Storm Lake office, was the recipient of UBI's July 24, 2026, Cause Day donation. This donation will help them provide backpacks full of school supplies to area children whose families might not be able to afford the supplies. The BLESS (Bless and Love Everyone's School Supplies) Program serves Storm Lake and the surrounding area and has provided nearly 6,000 backpacks to students since it started 10 years ago.
