United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,108 to the Sac City Senior Center Meals on Wheels program. This money was raised during UBI's UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort. The goal of UBI's Cause Day initiative is to make a difference and support people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays each month, UBI employees from all 37 locations have the option to donate $5.00 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER t-shirts with jeans to work. The bank matches the donations up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions given by all 37 offices.
The Sac City Senior Center Meals on Wheels program, suggested by the Sac City office, was the recipient of UBI's October 9, 2026, Cause Day donation. The Meals on Wheels program serves more than 30 senior citizens in the Sac City area on a daily basis and also provides a dine-in/take-out option for seniors who are not homebound. The Senior Center has been providing meals to area seniors for more than 50 years.
