Jean Snyder Joins United Bank of Iowa Board of Directors


 


Owen C. Bolte, Chairman of the Board of United Bank of Iowa, is pleased to announce the addition of Jeanette (Jean) Snyder to the Board of Directors of United Bank of Iowa. Snyder was elected at the monthly board meeting held on October 17, 2025.

Snyder graduated from Wayne State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with accounting and finance concentrations. She started her career at United Bank of Iowa, spending ten years in compliance and consumer/real estate lending, advancing to Vice President Lending. While at United Bank of Iowa, she attended the Iowa School of Banking and the Iowa Agriculture School of Credit. 

For the past 25 years, Jean has worked in the ag retail and distribution industry with companies such as Nutrien, Chem-Nut Inc. of Georgia, and most recently, Novus Ag LLC of Fort Collins, Colorado. She specializes in receivable credit risk management, debt restructure and negotiation, and financing program development. Jean has traveled the United States, visiting farmers and ag retailers, gaining an understanding of the multitude of crops grown and serviced throughout the country. 

Jean has served on the Board of Directors of the National Credit Management Association Heartland Unit of Kansas City and regularly participates in Food and Agribusiness conferences sponsored by professional banking and economic organizations. She volunteers with the American Legion Auxiliary and is a member of St. Martin Parish, both of Odebolt. 

Bolte commented, “We are excited to have someone with Jean's broad base of knowledge in the ag and retail industry join our board. Her banking background and extensive ag experience bring valuable insight and expertise to the board."

Jean and her husband, Grant, farm near Arthur, where they reside on the family farm. Their children include Adam of Odebolt, Megan and husband, Wade, of Pipestone, Minnesota, Brandi and husband, Michael, of Carroll, Taylor of Decorah, and Riley of West Des Moines. Jean's personal activities include hosting and spending time with her nine grandchildren.
