United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,122 to the Alta-Aurelia Backpack Program. This money was raised during UBI's UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort. The goal of United Bank of Iowa's Cause Day initiative is to make a difference and support the people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays of each month, UBI employees from all 37 locations have the option to donate $5.00 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER t-shirts with jeans to work. The bank matches the donations up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions given by all 37 offices.
The Alta-Aurelia Backpack Program, suggested by the Alta office, was the recipient of UBI's September 25, 2026, Cause Day donation. This program serves low-income families within the Alta-Aurelia school district by providing meals and snacks for students to take home, ensuring they have food over the weekend and during breaks from school.
Since September 2020, United Bank of Iowa has donated $304,940 to 145 causes in their market area through this Cause Day effort.
